Pandemic-related pregnancy stress among a group of Egyptian women during COVID-19 pandemic

Objective: Prenatal maternal stress is a known risk factor for preterm birth, low birth weight, and infant health problems may have long-term impacts on the offspring. The study aimed to assess pandemic-related pregnancy among group of Egyptian women during COVID-19 pandemic.Methods: used descriptive cross-sectional design 100 pregnant who were selected using purposive sample technique. was conducted at antenatal clinics Obstetrics Gynecology Department Mansoura University Hospitals, city, Dakahlia governorate, Egypt. Two tools utilized gathering data; structured interviewing questionnaire socio-demographic reproductive characteristics studied Pandemic-Related Pregnancy Stress scale women.Results: findings revealed that less than half pandemic reported elevated levels related feeling unprepared childbirth around three-quarters experienced high perinatal infection.Conclusions: concluded had inadequate preparation potential infection. In addition, infection more prevalent preparedness women. It recommended provide prenatal educational programs coping strategies pandemic.
